Cavity Prevention
Everyday habits and professional care that keep cavities from starting.

A gentle way to treat early-stage cavities, without numbing or drilling.
Cavity reversal is a gentle, minimally invasive way to treat early-stage cavities. Instead of drilling away decay and placing a filling, the treatment helps rebuild weakened enamel, so there is no needle, no numbing and no drill. At Cardinal Point Dental we use Curodont®.
It works with your own saliva. The treatment helps the fluoride and minerals already in your mouth reach deeper into an early cavity than they normally would, so the tooth can rebuild the enamel it has lost and keep its natural structure.
It may be a good fit if you:
Your care is led by Dillon Hernandez, DMD.

A cavity found early can often be treated more gently, and you keep more of your natural tooth. Left alone, decay keeps growing and may eventually need a filling, a crown or a root canal.
Not every cavity qualifies. Once decay is deeper, a filling may still be the right treatment, and your dentist will tell you which applies to you. Regular exams and X-rays are how early cavities get found in the first place.

Yes. Curodont® is the treatment we use for cavity reversal at our Jacksonville office.
There is no drilling and no needle, so numbing is not needed.
No. It is meant for early-stage cavities. A deeper cavity may still need a filling, and your dentist will tell you which treatment fits your tooth.
Avoid rinsing, eating or drinking for 30 minutes after the treatment. After that, keep up your usual daily brushing and flossing and your regular dental visits.
Coverage varies by plan and by the treatment you need. Call our office and we'll help confirm your benefits before treatment starts.
